T.S. from Kentucky writes; I was in an AKC hunt the other night and the dogs ran a coon into a field tile. All dogs were struck in on the track, but only two of the dogs (A & B) were declared treed. When we arrived at the tile dogs A, B & C were treeing in the tile, but dog D was trailing around and checking trees. Dog D finally came in to the tile and was handled, the coon was seen. How do you score this?
Dear T.S. In accordance with Chapter 7, Section 12 dogs A & B will receive plus points both strike and tree. Dog C would receive plus strike points only as he was not declared treed in the tile, but was indeed showing the end of the track. As stated in Chapter 7, Section 13.E, dog D would receive minus strike points for coming in where the coon was seen.
