Salisbury, NC - The weather was beautiful and the coon moved well for the hounds and hunters of the 5th Annual AKC Fall Classic in Salisbury this weekend. When it was all said and done, Jerry Wayne McNeill, a hunter well known to the competition hunt scene in North Carolina emerged as the AKC Fall Classic Champion with his three-year old Treeing Walker female Bug Eyed Terrible Tiny. Tiny posted a cast win of 875 plus on Friday night and came back in on Saturday night with another cast win of 175 plus to run her two-night total to 1050 plus.
The 5th Annual AKC Fall Classic Bench Show Champion is also a Treeing Walker female. Ben's Creek Southern Kat proved to be the first choice in a field of 32 coonhounds trotted before the watchful eye of judge David Gardin.
As AKC Fall Classic Bench Show Champion the Treeing Walker bitch earned the championship trophy, a custom Millcreek dog box, an embroidered Black Gold Premium Dog Food jacket and a cash award in the amount of $150.00.
