Staying on message - it just makes sense

Journal entry for Thursday, July 24, 2008
In April of 2005, the world’s oldest and largest kennel club, the non-profit American Kennel Club rolled out the “New AKC” coonhound events program. Since that time, the “beat-the-dogs-you-draw, that’s-all-style” of coon hunting has swept the country like wildfire, from the mountains of Vermont to the swamps of Florida to the piney woods of east Texas and next month, to the Big Horn Mountain region of Wyoming.
The reason for the amazing growth has been the message. Everyone involved in the sport of coon hunting these days recognizes that the fun, the fairness, and the feasibility of clubs holding coonhound events was missing, that the events were in various stages of distress before the New AKC programs came along. Since coon hunters and coon hunting clubs have embraced the AKC message, the sport hs been energized. Clubs are coming aboard in increasing numbers, week after week.
In just a few days we will take the “beat the dogs you draw, that’s all” philosophy to a whole new level when we announce the new AKC’s breeder’s incentive program. In keeping with our motto, the program will continue the fun, fair, and feasible aspects of AKC coon hunting while providing cash incentives to each of the important elements of our sport; breeders, stud dog owners, and competitors. The difference in the AKC program and the programs that are out there is that our program has at it’s core the fun, the fairness, the feasibility that has made the AKC program so popular today. When you take a look at this program we’re confident you’re going to say – Hey, that just makes sense!
We plan to roll the new program out on August 1st. Watch for it!
