Wetumpka, AL I found myself spending the weekend in Alabama with hunts in Wetumpka and Eufaula. Friday night began in Wetumpka with Central Alabama CHA hosting a 16-dog Black Gold/Gold Medal event.. The weather had turned cool for the south and as I arrived at the clubhouse, I could see the hunters gathered around a big fire trying to stay warm. The minute I got out of my truck, it was obvious they all appreciated someone from AKC coming to their event. Of course, we certainly appreciate everything the Central Alabama CHA has done to support AKC coonhound events!
Twelve dogs were entered for the Gold Medal with four for the open event. It was a great hunt with all four casts coming in as casts wins with plus points. Pictur ed below are the cast winners:
